Copie du texte sans les cartes :
HARDALPITOUR is a non-competitive tour through the mountains of Piedmont. It is an opportunity to share with other people the passion of riding one's own motorcycle on dirt roads. To make this trip successful it is fundamental that the teams create a climate of deep harmony and cooperation. This allows to manage all the difficulties in the route as well as one's own energy, in order to face hazards that may occur during the long tour.

Please remember that all members of each team shall present themselves together at the check in. Bring along a printed copy of the filled personal form of registration to the event, that you have received by e-mail; a printed copy of your bank transfer or Paypal transaction (even if you have already e-mailed it before).
Teams
The participation to the tour is open to all members of OVER2000RIDERS enrolled for 2014. Members are divided into teams. Each team includes three bikers.
Each team member shall have a mobile phone; it is highly recommended to bring along the necessary kit to solve small mechanical troubles (inner tubes, sets for tube punctures, lamps and so on), and some maps of the routes.
Each team shall be equipped with no less than 1 GARMIN GPS device, in which to upload all tracks of possible itineraries and to record the covered route.
Each team is autonomously created by members on their initiative. Should a team miss one or more members, for any reason, every other single member may decide whether to continue the tour by oneself, or with another team.
Motorcycles and suggestions for bikers
Recommended motorcycles for this tour are the off-road multi-cylinder motorcycles (KTM LC8, BMW GS and HP2, HONDA AFRICA TWIN etc.) as well as the single-cylinder motorcycles, having a weight exceeding 150 kg. The lighting system of the motorcycle shall be in perfect conditions.
Any exceptions to these provisions may be decided independently by the Association. The Association's decisions shall not be subject to any claims by the participant members.
Fill up with enough fuel for about 120 km. There is the possibility to fill up at self-service petrol stations located nearby the three assistance points. Bring along low denomination banknotes.
As some of possible roads wind up and down the mountains at more than 2000 m above sea level, it is highly recommended to wear suitable clothes and bring along all necessary tools to autonomously solve possible punctures, mechanical troubles and motorcycle towing. We recommend to bring along energy snacks. Water can easily be found on the route.
Routes
The possible itineraries follow high-altitude carriage roads, former military roads, state and country tar roads that are usually covered by motorbikes as well as off-road cars. These itineraries are shown in maps available on sale.
These itineraries include about 280/300 km of dirt roads and about 200 km of asphalted roads, according to the followed itinerary, so the whole tour is about 550 km.
The route is divided into four separated stages. At the stages there is a refreshment and assistance stand (a total of three refreshment stands are provided).
The route of the EXTREME event is about 270 km long in the Susa Valley, to be covered at night from 7th to 8th September. In this event, a refreshment stand is located half route, as well as a check point of bikers' passages.
No later than August 27th, the participants will be emailed a GPS track showing some possible itineraries both on dirt and on asphalt roads.
As this event is a tour with non-competitive nature, each team decides independently its own timing for travel and rest; the route to follow or change among the proposed ones; the stops
at the refreshment stands, and so on. All depends on one's own skills, weather conditions, general current situations as well as road practicability during the event.
Average speed on the whole route may vary from 20 to 30 km/h according to current conditions.
It is recommended to read up on other routes different from the ones uploaded in the GPS tracks and to report these alternative routes directly on the paper map. This will be useful for changing and/or shortening the route in case of unforeseen events, mechanical troubles and so on.
The HARDALPITOUR staff provides food and beverage at the assistance and refreshment stands, where there is also a room for relax.
Assistance and refreshment stands are located at Bocciofila in Vernante village, in Ristorante Cianabie in Becetto village (Sampeyre) and Ristorante Chiabriera at Pomaretto. Indications to reach these stands are contained in the tracks of the possible itineraries as well as in the relevant sheet. These stands are indoor. Every participant can get some food and beverage provided by the organization. Assistance at these stands shall be provided with the following timetable: Bocciofila in Vernante: from 19:00 to 1:00. Ristorante Cianabie in Becetto from 22:00 to 6:00. Bocciofila in Pomaretto from 5:00 to 11:00. Arrival at Sestriere in Piazzale Kandar from 11:00 to 16:00 o'clock.
